Music Educator, Kathleen Shanahan says:
“Guitar Bob exudes a creative, contagious energy both in the college learning environment and in his musical performances. Bob was my college professor for my “Nurturing Experiences in Art for Young Children” class at Felician College. I greatly respect him as a fellow educator. The wealth of experience he transferred to me during my studies under him is invaluable. Our classroom atmosphere was creative and professional.
Bob gave an excellent workshop on teaching through music, his specialty, while at Felician. I brought my young son, who joined in the festivities with several other children. It was an opportunity for me to learn by example. Bob continued to go above and beyond his role as professor by visiting me in the environment where I taught music classes and providing me with additional guidance. The young children in my music class LOVED their visit from Guitar Bob! Bob was kind enough to share his talents during his visit. I count him as a respected, fellow professional”.
Supervising Librarian, Deborah Sandford says:
“Guitar Bob was a big hit with our mixed “family crowd”! Our audience for programs is primarily young, but that didn’t daunt Bob’s attitude in engaging in a successful show. The three year olds were singing and dancing, and so were their grandparents. It’s true—Bob doesn’t ‘sing down’ to the kids with inane songs, but brings them up a level, to express care about themselves and their communities with fun and interest.
Bob is refreshingly soft-spoken and low-keyed—sans the maniacal musical frenzy that some performers think entertains children. He’s genuinely sincere, and everybody relates to that. And, oh, yeah, his songs and music are really good! I hope he produces many CDs and videos—he could give well-known performers some good competition.
When my young patrons visit the library, they ask, “Where is Guitar Bob?” Even one of our teens said, “I remember Guitar Bob from when I was little!”

“Bob Messano is an excellent person. I met Bob many years ago through common activities in which our kids were involved. Whether in sports or scouting, he was always present and willing to share his musical abilities, and teaching tools. He is family oriented, bringing high values and morals to whatever he does. I have also dealt with Bob on a more professional level, where he demonstrated knowledge and punctuality during the search of his home. This aspect of his personality shows motivation and focus. Throughout these years Bob was always involved in teaching and supporting young children with special needs. Bob’s background and passion to teach and share his wonderful knowledge of music with the young and the old leads me to highly recommend Bob Messano.”

Professor Bob always incorporated projects for us to do so that we could have hands on experience. He was very knowledgeable and creative in the area of the Arts. My ability to put effective projects and themes together for young children definitely improved after taking his class.”
